Otis, My Man - 3 Song EP
Right off I want to talk about the production of this EP. I'm not sure if
this is a live recording or if they just didn't track individually in the
studio. The musicians are on their game and I definitely dig on the mix of
straight ahead rock and punk style drums and vocals, but the low quality mono
mix of the CD brings it down some. I would really like to see what these guys
can do in a professional studio. Better yet check 'em out live! "Baby
Keep Talking" is the first cut and doesn't hesitate for second.
Everybody goes full bore from the start and stays consistent all the way
through the next two songs-"Shades of Grey" and "Pieces of
Myself". These cats are full of energy and I'm betting their live shows
get pretty rowdy. Otis is very consistent with their style, so if you like
pounding rock you won't be disappointed. They play hard and fast and Baxter
tried to wag his tail to the beat, but he wore himself out and crashed.
